Wait 03:23
Wait for the sign on the hill to read It’s OK to proceed Just go ahead and lose your mind Everyone will do it all the time I can’t wait to be up there I know I’ll be in air The golden age to be in bloom I hope I get there soon To be in touch with everyone we love I never fit inside the glove To mold with everyone I meet Wait ‘til it’s complete I just had to know for sure If I could catch the lure Silhouetted by starlight Shadowed by satellite Wait ‘til the broken past dissolves The future will resolve Our mistakes we kept in tact I’m on a different track Moving outwards and above I’ve never felt so loved I hope this movie never ends And my story follows trends

Why did you lie, why did you lie to me Were you intending to hurt Just another knife in the back The blood is dry to my shirt Late into the night I howl at the moon Sneakin’ out the door with my combat boots Ready runnin’ Don’t ask me how I feel I’m only moments away From unraveling Come even There must be more here to say Storming out the room not a moment too soon (Go on and do your best alone) I’ll do it better when I get a little more away from here (You don’t have to prove anything, I get it) In your eyes I held you down You view me as you see you Take a step and you’ll move back Into another heart attack

Don’t you wonder if it's really happening All the worries in your head are now foreseen It's a hell of a fight To do alright Doin’ alright for now Stand up resist Show em your fist Doin’ alright for now But how long can we hold the door Before the wall comes down You don’t second guess yourself in front of the hounds Though they snarl and growl They got no bite So just continue the fight Some get up and change their minds All good in due time But how long Are we motionless or do we have the legs To carry what our shoulders bare and march them for today It's a hell of fight To do alright Doin’ alright for now Stand up resist Show em your fist Doin’ alright for now But how long Cause tomorrow decides if we’ve been right And if we oughta be heard It's a freedom of choice It's a freedom of choice

All my friends All my friends are moving on Don't you forget about me Don't you forget about me By the next holiday We’ll all be so much older Tell me what did I miss this time

Japan 03:29
As a traveling girl I was happier then I had fresh cut hair I had foreign friends And we’d stay out until 6am Just making out And heaving drinking And something inside me is reaching for something inside you And something inside me is reaching for something inside you Tapas bars and cobble streets The Pyrenees and nicotine Living light and loving heavy Open eyes no second guessing Feelings I have now they're so far gone And something inside me is reaching for something inside you And something inside me is reaching for something inside you And something inside me is reaching for something inside you And something inside me is reaching for something inside you As a traveling girl I was happier then I had fresh cut hair I had foreign friends

Paralyzed 03:23
Used to be so paralyzed Around feeling not enough Opened up my heart and stopped being so harsh I’m finally waking up Often times it’s hard to trust yourself Paralyzed I’m not paralyzed I’m not paralyzed anymore I’m not paralyzed I’m not paralyzed I’m not paralyzed anymore It’s never like it used to be But there's so much strength in moving on I dug a little deeper Wanted bigger answers Now I see the truth I feel it in my bones that anywhere is home If you can make the space

Predators 02:42
Hold your breath my hummingbird You’re so scared of predators If I let these secrets surface to a place that you can see them Does it make me weak We would be unstoppable If we could just be vulnerable If I let these secrets surface to a place that you can see them Does it make me weak You could show me all your darkness and it wouldn’t bother me A past that's filled with living nightmares Try to throw away the key And ain't it the truth babe, we’re living proof babe, nobody rides for free

Mania Days 05:02
At the harbor by the shore Alligators fasting for their Lord So adored Mania Days Control the message sent For lunacy Is how it's meant to be Once it happened I believed it I won’t go by any name Luminescence. Secondary Commit to fraud or forgery I set my eyes on amphitheatres Taste of apple I can’t reach Honeygolds are out of season Heaven sent the ripest peach Academic honoree Bless this man a thousand pages he Disagreed Mania Days Now we’re living Mania Days Now we’re living free

Fallacies 03:51
Your drinking problem was My drinking problem too Now you hit me up saying you switched up Made adjustments and that's cute but I know you think you mean it And though you think you mean it There's no way that you’re changing soon And though you think you need me I know you think you need me There's no way that you’re changing soon I tried to Protect you But now there's nothing left Caught up in fallacies That you might change for me Now im living at my parents house And sleeping on my parents couch And now I have to live without you Your friends don't know what I went through I fought so fucking hard for you All they see is this empty space I left The space I left

Footed on the stage, bright lights hot Glitter on my face, anxious palms You could never be Hung up on these thoughts, sabotage You don't got the vibe or the style You could never be Truth is never what we perceive Still these ugly words eat at me You could never be Heavy in the room, quiet in the air Waiting for the cue, staring at my hands Now the band begins Take your time to seek your reasons All you have to give Off the stepping stone watch me leave uninhibited, unafraid How can it feel this way Some guy buys a round, but I don't even drink unless its top-shelf whiskey I don't really care, I just wanna go home and forget we played this awful show Roll up a spliff, it was just a bad night, write a new song about feeling alright Mixes come back, but the vocals fall flat, and tonight we owe the venue Right on the brink of giving it up, 'cause trusting the process might not be enough Constantly thinking of where I should be, but I guess life's not this linear thing Is it only me questioning Tear out the pages of notebooks I've written The words and the doodles are somebody else It’s not a surprise to be growing up older But now I forget what I wanted to be A singer, a dancer, a writer perhaps An artist with passion; a visionary Am I still believing in all my desires Or have they run amok Taking the wheel on my fantasy drive And steering me closer to why I'm alive Drifting and swerving while nodding along Open your mind to me Am I the impostor I've always suspected? I guess I'll never know And why should I care if this music's for me, and not to make me cool

about

Hello friends of Hi Crime! We are very excited to bring you our debut full-length album "The Kids Still Got It". This album was a big undertaking for us in that we wanted all the songs to have the flavor of a big studio production, while still doing as much as we possibly can ourselves. Recording took place in our bedrooms and basements from January-June 2018.
